……Police recovers 120 roasted cows
Irate mob on Friday beat 3 suspected armed robbers which one died in the process.
According Kastina state police public relations officer,(PPRO), SP Gambo Isah, “On 27/11/2020 at about 01:30hrs, armed robbers numbering three (3) attacked the house of one Alhaji Hari Bello with dangerous weapons and as a result of which they injured two of his children.
“The victims raised alarm which attracted the neighbors and the police. Consequently, the hoodlums were chased and pursued as a result of which one of the robbers was apprehended and seriously beaten by the angry crowd.
SP Gambo said the police evacuated both the injured hoodlum and the victims to Malumfashi General hospital for treatment. Victims were treated and discharged while the robber died on admission. Investigation is ongoing with a view to arrest other members of his syndicate.
Meanwhile Kastina state police also said that it has recovered over 120 roasted cows on Thursday.
The state’s PPRO said that bandits numbering fifteen (15), on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Fararu Hamlet, Birchi Ward, Kurfi LGA of Katsina state and rustled one hundred and twenty cows.
He said, “On receipt of the report, DPO Kurfi Division led ‘Operation Puff Adder’ and laid seige in a possible escape route of the bandits at Tashan Bara’u village – cattle route. Fortunately, the bandits followed through the route and the police team engaged into a gun duel.
” Consequently, they police foiled the bandits and recovered all the rustled cows, ” Gambo stated.
” Search parties are currently combing the area with a view of arresting and/or recovery of dead bodies of the injured bandits. Investigation is ongoing, “he said.
