Uzodinma Nwafor, candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), has been declared the winner of the chairman seat of Etche LGA of Rivers state.
The LG elections were held on Saturday.
Adolphus Enebeli, chairman of Rivers State Independent National Electoral Commission (RSIEC), announced the Etche LGA result on Sunday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Enebeli said the AA also won all the 19 councillorship positions in Etche LGA.
Earlier, the Action Peoples Party (APP) was declared the winner of 22 of 23 chairmanship positions in the state local government elections.
Siminalayi Fubara, the governor, will swear in all the newly elected local government chairpersons by 4pm today.
Tammy Danagogo, secretary to the state government (SSG) who announced the development, said the event is scheduled to be held at the executive council chambers, government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state had cautioned against the declaration of the results.
Aaron Chukwuemeka, the Rivers PDP chairman, warned that announcing results could incite violence.
Victor Giadom, APC chairman in the south-south, said the party boycotted the election because of discrepancies with the existing laws.
