The councillor representing ward 1, Ewohimi, Esan South East Local government area of Edo state, Israel Inyanabor has been kidnapped.
It was gathered that the councillor was kidnapped on Wednesday along Ewatto-Ubiaja-Okhuesan road near Ena river in the local government.
It was also learnt that Inyanabor was kidnapped on the same spot where a classroom teacher Mr. Aluola and his wife were kidnapped on Monday.
The kidnapped councillor was said to be driving along the Ewohimi road when gunmen suddenly emerged from the bush and started shooting sporadically, forcing him to stop.
The kidnappers was said to have thereafter abducted him into the forest where they normally held their victims hostage.
It was gathered that the news of the councillor kidnapped disrupted activities at the council’s headquarters.
Daily Trust reports that within 48 hours three persons, Mr. Aluola and his wife and Inyanabor have been kidnapped on the road.
Meanwhile, residents of the area have appealed for the deployment of the joint security task force to the area, saying hoodlums have taken over the road.
Efforts to get confirmation from the state command public relations officer, Chidi Nwanbuzor, were unsuccessful as calls and text messages put across were not answered.
