Till now, I am yet to understand the gains of Nigerian government telling blatant lies to its citizens, especially in the areas of security.
Over a week now, the abduction of over 344 Kankara schoolboys is on the thread. On December 11, at about 2am gunmen stormed boys government college in Katsina and took many away in their numbers.
Initially, Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari said only 10 were missing while Katsina state police public relations officer, Isa Gambo claimed 200 students were being rescued already.
Just because something isn’t a lie does not mean that it isn’t deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction. Nigerian future cannot depend on the government alone. The ultimate solutions lie in the attitudes, actions and reactions of Nigerians.
Tracing back to 14 April 2015, 276 mostly Christian female students were kidnapped from the Secondary School in the town of
Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria. Responsibility for the kidnappings was claimed by Boko Haram, an Islamist extremist terrorist organization based in northeastern Nigeria..57 of the schoolgirls escaped in the months following the incident while others were rescued by Nigerian military forces on several occasions since. Some have described their capture in appearances at international human rights conferences. A child born to one of the girls and believed by medical personnel to be about 20 months old also was released, according to the Nigerian president’s office.
Since then hopes were raised on various occasions that the 219 remaining girls might be released.
Newspaper reports suggested that Boko Haram was hoping to use the girls as negotiating pawns in exchange for some of their commanders in jail.
In May 2016, one of the missing girls,
Amina Ali , was found. She claimed that the remaining girls were still there, but that six had died. A further 21 girls were freed in October 2016, while another was rescued the next month. Another was found in January 2017. 82 more girls were freed in May 2017.One of the girls was rescued in January 2018.
This is 2020, there is nothing like Chkbok or daptchi .
For six years now, What could have happened? Are the remaining girls stll alive? Nigerian citizens didn’t hear from the government again.
How can a country progress when the president filled his cabinet with conspicuous and shameless liars. Those who sing the praises of their principal even in worst moment.
It seams what President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidency owe Nigerians who deeply affected by insecurity ranging banditry and insurgency is only press statements – Shehu Garba and Femi Adesina the frontiers.
Months ago, when Bokoharam fighters struck in Zabamari and killed over 100 farmers who went to harvest the Rice ,the presidency was very quick to claim 43 casualty and went further to give outrageous excuses of ” Farmers not taking permission from the military before going to their farms.
Just Imagine
Days ago, I told a journalist that those various reports from defence headquarters (DHQ) claiming to bomb terrorist hideout in the northeast and northwest are not only forged but injurious evasions that can bear no fruits.
After the release of Kankara schoolboys on Thursday night which everyone know that Nigerian government paid huge ransom to captors -Bandits. This time it was Aminu Masari, gov of Katsina and the home governor of banditry, gov Mattawalle of Zamfara claimed no penny was paid to free the students. The Nigerian army are not left out shares of lies, taking unmerited glory.
If I may ask, as the COAS, where and when did Gen. Turkur Buratai reacted to Kankara schoolboys kidnap? SharaReporters on Wednesday reported where the said COAS poised with a snake in his farm – without even minding the security upsurge in the country.
Well, One thing is clear, Upon the failure of president Muhammadu Buhari to sack the overstayed service chiefs, its assumable that president Muhammadu Buhari enjoys the ugly situation.
All the laughable lies both from the past govt and present government cannot help rather it has deepened and more Nigerians are at very big risk tomorrow.
