Youth President of National Christians Association of Nigeria(CAN) Enwere Belusochukwu has condemned the sit-at- home order by indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
It said no agitation should be carried out outside the armbit of law.
He also decried persecution of Christians across the country and called for prosecution of those responsible for anti- Christian killings in Nigeria.
Addressing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital during thanksgiving service at the Temple of Grace, Owerri, the youth leader said: “We know that there are agitations in the country from the South East, South West, South South and even in the North.
“But we are saying that have the right of association, right to freedom but you must do that within the ambits of law.
“You can see what is already happening in the country and if everybody sits at home there will be problem.
“How do people eat, the economy will go down, people will not not be able to do the needful, what they are supposed to do in their daily businesses.
So we encourage everyone or group to shield their swords, let’s come to a round table.
“Very soon we will organise a peace submit for both Christian and Muslim youths to come together to address these issues.”
He however appealed to government to tackle unemployment with the seriousness its deserves, attributing it as the causes of agitations, banditry, kidnapping and insurgency.
“When the youths are gainfully employed all these problems will not emanate. It is unemployment that is causing banditry, kidnapping and insurgency, if at least 70 per cent of the youths are engaged all these problems will stop,” he emphasised.
