6 Killed, 19 Injured In Bauchi Auto Crash

Barely five days after five persons were killed in an auto crash in Bauchi, another road accident has killed six people and injured 19 at Durum village along Bauchi-Kano road.

The Sector Command Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Bauchi State, who confirmed the accident to newsmen on Tuesday, said the crash occurred along Bauchi-Kano federal highway at about 6.42pm on Monday.

Abdullahi explained that the crash was caused by worn out tyres from one of the vehicles and it affected 25 people, comprising 23 including women and a child.

Abdullahi added that the corpses were deposited at the ATBUTH mortuary, while those who sustain injuries were treated at the same hospital.

He added that the obstructions on the road were cleared while the vehicles were handed over to the Motor Transport Department of the GRA Police Station.

He appealed on drivers especially commercial drivers to avoid reckless driving and should obey road traffic rules and regulations to reduce the incidents of road crashes.

He said, “They should avoid over-speeding and ensure that their vehicles are road worthy. They should avoid using worn out tyres and other practices that endanger their lives, other road users.”
