2023: Obasanjo’s son has pledged to support Osinbajo, says Ojudu

Post Date : January 30, 2022

Babafemi Ojudu, special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters, says Olujonwo, Obasanjo’s son, has pledged support to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo if he runs for president in 2023.

He said this on his Facebook page, while announcing the visitation of the former president’s son to his office in Abuja.

Ojodu said Olujonwo like many other Nigerians came to his office to register his wish that Osinbajo run for the highest political office in the country.

He said the son of the former president also promised to join the vice-president’s campaign train if he runs.

“Olujonwo Obasanjo, son of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, visited yesterday,” he wrote.

“He too, like many others, came to register his wish and aspiration that vice president Yemi Osinbajo throws his hat in the rings for the 2023 contest.

“Smart and brimming with ideas, he promised that if Osinbajo heeds the call of Nigerians he will be willing and ready to volunteer to join the campaign train. Thank you Olu. I will pass your message across.”

TheCable had reported that Ojudu said his decision not to support Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid should not be seen as betrayal.

Tinubu, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently expressed his interest in contesting the 2023 presidential election, describing it as a lifelong ambition.
