Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has on Thursday visited the Nnewi South LG Headquarters, in Ukpor.
Governor Soludo who was accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, the TC Chairman of Nnewi South L.G.A Hon. Henry Chieloka, and other security chiefs to express his displeasure with the burning of some office buildings by arsonists who attacked the Secretariat in the early hours of this morning.
The governor who described the incident as act to “impoverishing the common man on the street,” lamented that the hoodlums are making the government spend money meant to better the lives of the people to renovate buildings.
The governor lamented over the destruction of key buildings within the premises including that of a traditional ruler.
Soludo called on residents to remain law abiding, urging security operatives to ensure they fish out the perpetrators of the crime.
JOURNALIST101 had earlier reported that hoodlums had in the early hours of Thursday attacked the Nnewi South Secretariat, burning down buildings and killing a security guard on duty.
