The coalition of christian associatiions in Nigeria has urged christians in the country to rise up, defend themselves and christian faith in NIgeria especially in the christian dominated States in the North like Kaduna, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Taraba among others.
Speaking under the aegis of Coalition Against Religious Banditry (COBRA), which has over 102 affiliate bodies said that the christian bodies condemned the ongoing killing spree of defenceless indigenous christians by the murderous Fulani Herdsmen who masquerade as bandits in their homelands.
In a statement released on Saturday in Kaduna, after a crucial general meeting of the coalition and signed by Elder Dede Uzor A, Uzor, the body lamented the continuous and unabated maiming and killings of ” humanity and human families” by Fulani Herdsmen murderous marauders(FHMM) in the name of bandits..
COBRA called on progressive and concerned believers all over the country to rise up,move to violent prone areas to defend their fellow Christians before it is too late in defence of christianity, lamenting that ” these antichristian forces were determined to exterminate christians in the Federal Republic of Nigeria particularly in Kaduna, Plateau and other parts of the North because they (Fulani murderous herdsmen) allegedly claimed of having monopoly of violence.
The group said all christians living in violent prone areas should rise up and defend themselves.
” We cannot allow miscreants, religious bigots and Jihadists to kill us and compulsory convert our children to islam by force. Christianity abhors killings of our fellow humans but we cannot fold our hands and allow criminals who parade as religious bigots to exterminate and mortgage our future” said COBRA.
They said christians should be mobilised to proceed to Kaduna to defend the defenceless christians who are facing total extermination from the face of earth, while the Federal and State authorities remained indifferent to these unwarranted and ungodly and murderous bloodletting without any action because the time of embarking only in prayers has gone but needed serious action,(prayers without actions is already dead) Elder Dede Uzor warned.
