IG deploys commissioners in Edo, Adamawa, Kaduna, Imo

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Alkali Baba Usman has ordered the deployment of police commissioners to Edo, Adamawa, Kaduna, and Imo states.

A statement yesterday in Abuja by the Acting Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), said Commissioner of Police (CP) Abutu Yaro was deployed to Edo State, while fellow Police Commissioners Sikiru Akande Kayode, Yekini Adio Ayoku, and Mohammed Ahmed Barde are to head Adamawa, Kaduna, and Imo State police commands.

The statement said Yaro holds a B.A. (Hons.) from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria; Kayode holds a B.Sc in Political Science from the University of Benin (UNIBEN); Ayoku holds a B.Sc from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN); while Barde has served in Police College in Jos, Plateau State, and the Nigeria Police Academy at Wudil, Kano, as DC Admin, among others.

The IGP urged the newly posted officers to hit the ground running in crime-fighting and public safety.

He also called for support and cooperation from members of the public to the new police helmsmen to enable them perform optimally.

The posting, according to Usman, is with immediate effect.
