Socai media aide to president Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, is licking his wound as his bid to pick the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to fly the flag of the party in Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu Federal Constituency of Kano State, has hit the rock.
Bashir was roundly defeated in a two-horse race between him and the incumbent; Abdullahi Mahmood Gaya
Mahmood Gaya secured 109 votes in the poll to trounce Bashir Ahmad who got a paltry 16 votes.
However, in a post on his social media page, Bashir Ahmad lamented the use of thugs in elections stating that: “As an aspirant, I left the venue of primary election for Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, because of the security of our majority delegates, if I want to compete with the best, thugs shouldn’t be part of any election. A dakace mu!”
Before the contest, Bashir Ahmad tweeted that: “Our primary election is tomorrow, I am contesting against the incumbent MHR, even though majority of you have no business in the process, but I have important requests, kindly include me in your prayers, words of encouragement, and best wishes, PLEASE. May Allah grant us victory!”
Bashir Ahmad recently resigned his job as President Muhamnadu Buhari’s special assistant on social media to contest the ticket of the All Progressives Congress House of Reps ticket in Kano State.
