Anambra Police Bursts ‘Sex Factory” In Onitsha

 

The Anambra Police Command, says they have unravelled a sex factory in the state where underaged girls are used as sex slaved and some of them as baby factory.

In a press conference held in Onitsha area Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng said 31 females and 4 pregnant ladies were rescued during the raid at the their hotel; Gally Gally in Nkpor on the 13th of June, 2022.

Echeng said the arrest followed a rigorous analysis of crime trends and pattern in the area, adding that three persons were arrested for their involvement, a pump action and the sum of N877,500 recovered.

“Following a rigorous analysis of crime trends and pattern, the Command Operatives on 13th June, 2022, working on information bursted a hotel named Gally Gally in Nkpor where they use children between the ages of 14years – 17years for sex slaves, prostitution and baby factory.

“The Operatives rescued, 35 girls and 4 of them are pregnant. The police also arrested 3persons namely: Mrs Ifeoma Uzo age ‘F’ 35yrs, Chidiebere Alaka ‘M’ 28years and Nweke Chidiebere.

“We recovered three pump action gun, seven cartridges and cash sum of Eight hundred and seventy seven thousand, five hundred naira (#877,500). The Suspects arrested are being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement and unmasking other gang members.”

The Police boss in the statement signed by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu also said that the rescued victims will be handed over to NAPTIP “for their welfare and rehabilitation of the children”, while “all the suspects will be charged to court at the end of investigations.

The Anambra Police also “adviced parent and guardian to always create a deliberate relationship with their children and wards as it will help to guide and direct them in their activities. It will help to monitor against unforeseen issues and bad company.”
