A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Vincent Ogbulafor has reportedly died in Canada.

It was gathered that Ogbulafor died on Thursday night in Canada at the age of 73. The former PDP chairman was born on May 24, 1949.

Ogbulafor was the PDP National Secretary before he became the party’s National Chairman.

He resigned his appointment as the chairman after he was charged with an alleged financial recklessness while serving as a minister.

He was a Prince of Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Known for his frequent controversial statements, Ogbulafor was very influential during his time as PDP scribe and later Chairman.

Ogbulafor became PDP national chairman on March 8, 2008 and started his tenure on a controversial note with his comments, saying he did not worry if Nigeria became a one-party state.

The deceased was, however, forced to resign his position after he fell out with some top PDP chieftains.
