Gunmen is currently attacking the country home of the spokesperson for the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo has raised alarm on Tuesday.
On January 14, gunmen attacked, killed scores and razed many vehicles and houses in the country home of Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo, the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ideato North/South federal construency.
In a message sent our correspondent on WhatsApp, Ikenga said, “We are under attack again”.
“My House is under attack by armed men with explosive and heavy gunfire”
Ugochinyere is a native of Umukegwu, Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to a source who do not want to be mentioned, alleged that Ikenga’s home country in Akokwa has been invaded by Gov Uzodimma’s Ebubeagu militia, armed gunmen with Tiger squad written on their dresses and mask covering their faces.
According to the source, they gunmen were shooting sporadically. They are are currently holding Ikenga’s brother, Ikedi hostage to disclose to them where Ugochinyere’s whereabout.
When our correspondent contacted Imo police spokesperson, Henry Okoye said he will get back to our correspondent.
But as the time of filling this report, Okoye is yet to respond to text messages sent to him by our correspondent.
