BREAKING: Over three persons killed in Plateau fresh attack

Three people have been my murdered in a fresh attack in the restive Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state on Friday.

The latest incident, which has raised fears of reprisal, came less than three days after more than 195 people were killed in Christmas Eve attack in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of the state.

TheSun gathered that the three youths had gone to check on their relatives who had apparently escaped to Bokkos town during an earlier invasion of their community when they’re waylaid and killed by the gunmen at Lut village.

They were said to have been killed on the spot.

According to Mallai, “Three youths from Angwan Hausawa, Bokkos town were killed yesterday( Friday) at Lut, one of the communities earlier attacked by assailants on Christmas eve.

He identified them as Lurwan Ismail, a Muslim from Ron Kulere, Muhammadu Tuka (Ron Muslim), and Mayo (Mwaghavul Christian),

“They went there to pick up their loved ones (Fulanis) who escaped to Bokkos town as IDPs when they were killed.

He said their bodies had not been retrieved by their relatives.

The recent attack, adds to the growing anxiety following the attack and harvest of deaths in the three local government areas.

Fear of reprisal had led to cancellation of Fulani festival by the Wase emirate council and the New Year visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos by Jos Joint Traditional Council.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Alfred Alabo and his counterpart in the Operation Safe Haven OPSH, Capt Oya James, couldn’t be reached as their phones were off when our correspondent tried to reach them for comments.
