Canada-based Nigerian woman, Amaka Patience Sunnberger, has brazenly dismissed the possibility of arrest or deportation after the Canadian government was asked to investigate and possibly prosecute her.

This request follows her inflammatory comments in a video clip on X on Tuesday, where Sunnberger was making threatening remarks against Yoruba and Benin people during a TikTok livestream.

The statements sparked widespread outrage, leading key figures, including the Chairperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, to formally request her prosecution by Canadian authorities citing violations of both international and Canadian laws.

Sunnbergerm reacting to the post on Thursday, asserted that her Canadian citizenship shields her from legal repercussions.

She further emphasized that Canada’s legal system differs from Nigeria’s, implying that she is protected from arbitrary arrest or deportation.

She said,”, “Somebody just send me message, say them arrest me, say them wan deport me, with passport? I be Canada pikin.

“See am now, I dey house, why I go dey lie?.”
