Desperate Demand! I will kill myself if Izunaso fails to pay me ₦200m by June 15 – Okafor

A chilling ultimatum is rocking the political space, as Chief Emma Okafor, popularly known as Agujiegbe, has threatened to take his own life if Senator Osita Izunaso (Imo West) fails to pay him the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (₦200,000,000) and provide a brand new SUV by June 15th, 2025.

Okafor, a political associate from Amaifeke, Orlu, claims Senator Izunaso reneged on promises made after he played a pivotal role in securing the Senator’s election victory. Speaking out in desperation, Okafor detailed a history of alleged neglect and broken commitments.

“I was called and invited by Izunaso to help him,” Okafor stated. “Izunaso at every point commended and appreciated my work for him. After he won the election, Izunaso invited me and asked me what he should do for me. He offered to make me one of his five statutory aides but I rejected that.”

Okafor explained he sought financial stability instead of a formal appointment: “I asked him to go and check that there are other sources of income in his office, that what I need at this point is something that will be giving me steady money. He promised to do the needful and since then it has been one failed promise after another.

Two years after, I have nothing to show for my works and sacrifices.”

The situation, Okafor claims, has left him destitute and ridiculed. “I have even become a laughing stock among my peers and I have huge debt obligations hanging around my neck,” he lamented.

He further alleged that his home and properties were destroyed due to his political involvement: “It was in the course of working for Izunaso that hoodlums attacked my home in Amaifeke and destroyed all my properties.” Okafor estimates it would cost “nothing less than ₦20m” to make his home habitable again.

Additionally, he showed the Senator an unfinished building project requiring ₦40m to complete, but received no positive response.

Okafor contrasted his treatment with that of aides under former Senator Hope Uzodimma: “When Uzodimma was Senator, all his aides were living big, driving good cars and making investments. If Izunaso had been treating me well, I should have at least ₦500m in my account by now.”

Frustration has now escalated to a dire threat. “He has frustrated me to the point that there is no use me being alive,” Okafor declared. “This is why I am stating it again that if by 15th of this month, I do not get ₦200m and a brand new SUV (Jeep) from Senator Izunaso, I will kill myself and my blood will be on his head.”

As of today, June 9th, Senator Osita Izunaso and his aides have maintained a “studied silence” regarding Okafor’s assertions and suicide threat.

Attempts to get a response from the Senator’s camp have been unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, public reaction is largely skeptical. Many commentators view Okafor’s threat as an empty tactic, a desperate ploy to pressure the Senator into parting with a significant sum of money.

With the June 15th deadline now just six days away, the wait continues.
Few questions suffice: Will Senator Izunaso break his silence or intervene? Can community leaders in Orlu mediate a resolution? And most critically, will Chief Emma Okafor carry through with his threat if his demands are not met?
The countdown has begun.
