Gunmen strangle motorcyclist to death in Delta

Suspected gunmen at the weekend strangled to death a motorcyclist, Edoja Ediri.

His motorcycle was also taken away after he was murdered.

Ediri, who was in his 30s, was strangled to death at Oviri-Ogor community, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.

It was learnt the body and helmet of the deceased, who was said to have hailed from Igbuku-Orogun, were found in an uncompleted building in the area with hands and legs tied.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, said the incident created panic in Oviri-Ogor community.

The source explained when the community leaders were informed, they immediately called the attention of the A Division Police Station who later came and evacuated the body.

Delta Police spokesman DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident and said there were marks of violence on his face and legs.

He however said he cannot ascertain whether the deceased was a commercial motorcyclist or not, assuring the police were on top of the issue.
