Remains of lady ‘butchered by gospel singer’ laid to rest

Salome Adaidu, the young lady allegedly murdered by gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, has been laid to rest.

Ajayi was apprehended in Nasarawa State after being allegedly caught with the severed head of his girlfriend, Adaidu, concealed in a polythene bag.

The gruesome incident reportedly occurred on Sunday in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Authorities were alerted through an intelligence tip-off, leading security operatives to an uncompleted building where Ajayi was arrested.

During his interrogation, Ajayi, who also promotes himself as a motivational speaker on TikTok, confessed to committing the crime.

In a now-viral video, the suspect revealed that he had been in a one-year relationship with Adaidu before her death.

He alleged that a heated argument escalated into a violent confrontation during which Adaidu purportedly tried to stab him with a knife.

Ajayi, who gained some recognition after releasing his album God of the Earth in 2020, disclosed that the rest of Adaidu’s body was at his residence.

On Monday night, Adaidu’s remains were interred, as captured in a viral video showing a group of men performing the burial while the sounds of mournful weeping could be heard in the background.
