2023: Mmesoma Egbo Joins Enugu House Of Assembly Race

 

Mmesoma Egbo is an ambitious Nigerian, with a deep commitment to public service and looking to run for the State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

She has attended so many leadership development programme from her days in school both at home and in Uk.

Mmesoma is the brain behind SOMA movement Health outreach programmes.

Her keen interest in politics started while in school; she was the SUG Vice President of Enugu state University of Science and Technology between 2019/2022. She is the Secretary, “Gburugburu is a Goal” support group Enugu State chapter and she is the Nkanu west Coordinator since 2017 till date.

She is also an active Youth mobilizer for the current Nkanu West Local Government Chairman, Hon Uche Ejim and was a member of the Committee on the Local Government youth group under the immediate past Chairman Hon. Nwabueze Nnamani, led by Hon Darlington Nnamani.

She coordinated Nkanu West Students in UK and is also Secretary Obe Youth Progressive Movement.

Mmesoma is said to have received many awards for her contributions to humanity especially to Youth and Women Constituency.

Responding on her readiness to face the primaries in a constituency where she is the only female among several other aspirants, she said, “Women should no longer play just by the sideline”.

“The call to address Gender inequality even in political representation is in line with the theme for the 2022 International Women’s Day celebration which calls for the closing of the gender gap between women and men” she stated.

I am aspiring now because there is no better time than now and action beats words. I pray it shall come to fruition by His Grace, she reiterated.
