2023: Why Nigerians Should Look Beyond Religion – Tinubu Support Group

A Coalition of Former Political Officer Holders in Kogi State (COPOH) has called on Nigerians to look beyond religion and ethnicity and vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his running mate, Kashim Shettima in the 2023 general elections.

The group’s chairman and former commissioner for works and housing development in Kogi State, Engr. A.A Sadik, made this call during a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

The Tinubu/Shettima ticket is generating ripples in the polity on grounds that both of them are Muslims. Christians are protesting that they have been sidelined in the political scheme of things.

But Sadik said the concern of Nigerians should be about voting the right person who would end insecurity, corruption, poverty and other vices bedeviling the country.

“Nigerians should look beyond religion and ethnicity lines, because all the indices that are hitting us on the face have nothing to do with if you are a Muslim or a Christian and today, what I think should be the major focus of Nigerians is that the country is in the state of coma and need to resuscitate, and the best person for this job is Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

He said the group made up of former political office holders in the state will do their best to ensure Tinubu succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

“We will achieve this through collaboration and support with former and present political appointees, party stalwarts in the state and with over 5000 support groups drawn from different backgrounds. We are working hand in hand in galvanising support for our candidate to ensure he comes victorious in 2023,” he added.
