23 persons killed in Benue LG attack

 

At least 23 bodies of people killed in Gwer West local of Benue state from Saturday and Sunday have been recovered by the local council,l, with many injured and two abducted.

According to a report, the armed terrorists yesterday attacked Aondona, the hometown of the Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Dioesase Bishop Wilfred Anagbe, who in March this year testified at the US and European Congresses over the killings in his Diocese and beyond.

It was gathered that the Chairman of Raav Development Association, Dr. Thediuse Tortiv Utor, expressed worry that with the deployment of more security agencies, still armed terrorists on Sunday and unprovoked attacks on communities in the local government being confronted by the security men.

The Chairman of Gwer West local government, Victor Ormin, who was emotionally depressed,d, blamed some security agencies for not doing enough to hurt some attacks in the area.

The Benue state police Command PPRO CSP Sewuse Annue confirmed that 3 bodies were recovered at the Aondona attack as police personnel have been drafted to the Area
