Group counters Anambra CP’s claim on lawmaker’s killers, says two persons that escaped were main suspects

Demand an apology

The Onitsha Ado Youths Forum (OAYF) on Monday questioned the Anambra Commisioner Of Police, CP Ikioye Irutugu’s claim that the two escapee suspects were not the principal suspects but rather drivers.

The group asked Nigerians to ignore the new CPs assertion maintaining that part OAYF members was in the entourage while the gang leader KELVIN IKECHUKWU OSSAI AKA IKEM took everyone to the scene where they murdered our brother late Hon Justice Azuka.
If the suspect KELVIN IKECHUKWU OSSAI was not the leading gang member.
1.How would he know the location at which Azuka’s remains was found?
2.How again would he know the buyer of every vehicles snatched from innocent citizens under gunpoint?

OAYF asked the new CP to answer these questions, such misinformation are aim of deceiving the entire Onitsha populace and the whole ndi Anambra.

The group stated that the escapees suspect Kevin Ikechukwu Ossai and Chinedu Okoli aka OCHA were the two notorious kidnappers who killed its son and dump his lifeless body at second bridge bridge Obosi in Idemili North LGA Anambra State after he was kidnapped on 24th December 24th along Ugwunabankpa road when he was celebrating Christmas for some of relatives.

“The CP should apologise to Ndi Anambra State and restrain himself from making provoking statement while they were yet to arrest the fleeing suspects and bring them to Justice.
We also demand thr new CP to embark on total overhauls of the entire RRS AWKUZU hence some of has became a lord of their own infested with acute correction and extortion.

“The CP should further overhauls the entire Anambra Police and remove anyone who has spent 5 years in a particular place, this will help check and bring these corrupt officers to book.

Recall that on 21th February, the Anambra State Police Command claimed that Chinedu and Ikemefuna, who recently escaped from police custody, were not principal suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a Labour Party lawmaker representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency.

State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Irutugo explained that Chinedu and Ikemefuna were only guiding officers to the buyer or receiver of Azuka’s stolen vehicles and belongings, not the masterminds of the crime. The key suspect, Tochukwu Akolisa, is already in custody.

The CP admitted that there was a procedural lapse that led to the suspects’ escape, but assured the public that the police high command had taken over the case and would address any negligence by officers involved.

Irutugu emphasized that investigations into Azuka’s kidnapping and murder were still ongoing, with principal suspects cooperating with the police. While acknowledging that officers were focused on arresting Akolisa, he assured that disciplinary actions would be taken against any officer found guilty of misconduct.
