An X user, @Unabommba, has published a 29-second video showing a mad Yahoo boy who failed to use his mother for ritual alongside the claim that it happened recently in Ogun State, Nigeria’s southwest.

“Breaking news: A Yoruba man from Ogun State runs mad after trying to sacrifice his mother for rituals but fails. He kept screaming, “They say make I sacrifice my mama.” Ogun State has become so diabolical! Dapo needs to act urgently, The X user claimed.”

The has generated over 348k views and more than 700 reposts on the X platform.

Yahoo Yahoo is a local name for internet fraud.

For a long time now, X users from Southeast and Southwest Nigeria have gone to any extent by sharing heinous videos, images, and stories to malign each other’s ethnic groups.

Verification

Keyframes from the video were subjected to a Google Image Reverse Search and results showed that the video was an incident that happened in August 2019.

Many Facebook pages published the video in 2019 with the caption that reads, “Yahoo boy runs mad after failing to use his mother for money ritual.”

The Facebook pages disclosed that the incident happened in Delta State; FactWatch Nigeria also observed that the colours of the tricycles in the video indicated that this was true.

Simple checks have indicated that the video showing a mad Yahoo boy who failed to use his mother for a ritual happened in Delta State in 2019.
