Tipper driver crushes pedestrian to death in Onitsha

… Victims evacuated, obstruction cleared

A middle age man was crushed to death on Sunday by a Tipper driver whose identify was not captured with a blue MAN Disel truck without registration number recorded near Owerri road by City biscuit junction, Onitsha.

Eyewitnesses told Crimefacts.News that the truck driver took one way and eventually crushes a male adult who was crossing the express way after alighting from a Tricycle.

Crimefacts.News also gathered that the crash involves a total of three male adults including the crushed victim who was rushed to Toronto hospital by men of the NPF before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Upper Iweka Outpost who are on ground to ensure free flow of traffic while obstruction is being cleared.

The Corpse of the crushed victim has been deposited at the Morgue in the same hospital after Doctor’s confirmation.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State CC Andrew A Kumapayi sends his condolences to the deceased family and strongly warns motorists especially truck drivers to desist from route violation (one way Driving) as the Corps will not take it lightly with any one caught Driving one way. More so, he admonishes pedestrians to always use pedestrian bridges where available and observe traffic drills before crossing the road as road traffic Crashes are avoidable.
