BREAKING: Nigerian resident doctors begin strike

 

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has directed its members to shut down public hospitals nationwide from Friday, DailyTrust reports.

This followed a 24-hour ultimatum to the federal government to address its outstanding demands, after the expiration of an earlier 10-day deadline on 10 September.

 

NARD had, on 1 September, threatened a nationwide industrial action if the government failed to resolve pending issues within 10 days.
