Plateau relaxes curfew in Jos North after relative calm

The Plateau State Government has relaxed the 48-hour curfew previously imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following the recent violent attack in Angwan Rukuba.

The decision comes in light of the relative calm in the area after the deadly incident that claimed 28 lives.

According to the government, “Effective from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the curfew will now be observed daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are permitted to go about their lawful activities within the stipulated hours.”

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, the government urged citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding as security agencies continue to monitor the situation to ensure sustained peace and order.

“The Plateau State Government appreciates the cooperation and resilience of the public during this period and reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state,” the statement added.
