Mr Desmond Anayo Odoh, a full fledged registered member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at Essodo 2 in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, has asked the party’s leadership in Enugu State to suspend the council party chairman, Chief Alex Uramah over his lack of integrity and public trust.
According to Uramah, Chief Alex Uramah who is chairman of the party in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, also serves as the campaign director to Hon Simon Atigwe, member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency. Thus, this dents his integrity to handle the party’s activities as chairman.
His petition to Enugu PDP Leadership reads in part, “Chief Alexander Nebechi Uramah has shown that he lacks integrity and public trust to handle to preside over the affairs of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in our local government as an unbiased umpire which is the supposed act. Hence the call for his Immediate suspension to avail aspirants a level playing ground for the Federal House Of Representatives primary election coming up on 20th May 2022.
Stating, further, Mr Desmond said that there has been series of allegations against Chief Uramah that he has been threatening and prosecuting the ward principal officers and Local Government committee members to dance to his candidate bids through oath taking, undue influence through his office as the Local Government party chairman, hence, a call for his suspension.
“The Chairman not minding His Excellency, the governor of Enugu State and leader of PDP in Enugu,Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is from our Federal Constituency yet Chief Uramah vowed to deliver the candidate of his choice in the forthcoming House of Representatives and other positions coming up this May, “Mr Desmond Anayo lamented.
“Chief Uramah mandated the principal officers to provide him with the names and phones numbers of the new elected Delegates on behalf of an aspirant whom he has sworn to deliver against anyone including the Governor of the State.
Mr Desmond Anayo Prayers:
1 That Chief Alex Uramah should be suspended with Immediate effect pending the investigation of the above allegations.
2 That Chief Alex Uramah should not be allowed to influence the decision of the electorates that all hace agreed to be waiting for directions Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
3 That after the Investigation and he is found wanting, he should be penalized accordingly, to restore the sanity of PDP in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.
