The notorious criminal and terror kingpin, Nwadiukwu Chigbogu, popularly known as “Agama”, has been arrested by security operatives in the Mbosi area of Anambra State.
The arrest marks the end of his reign of terror in the Ebonesie area of Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) and surrounding communities.
Ebonesie comprises of Mbosi, Isseke, Orsumoghu, Lilu, Azia, and Ubuisiuzor communities which he dominated and viciously terrorized.
Agama, a native of Ezikulu village in Mbosi, Ihiala LGA, was a key figure in the criminal syndicate now known as the “Unknown Gunmen”, that have been responsible for the wave of bloodletting, terror and chaos that have plagued the SouthEast of Nigeria.
Agama and his gang of bandits specialise in armed robbery, kidnapping, car snatching, vandalism, assassination and even organ harvesting and trafficking.
Agama’s notoriety reached new heights when he openly threatened to kill Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace Airlines and a prominent Nigerian businessman.
While Agama faces the full weight of the law, his wife, who is also implicated in his crimes, remains at large, with security forces intensifying efforts to bring her to justice.
Residents of Ihiala LGA and the broader Anambra State have expressed relief at the news of Agama’s capture. It is hoped that with Agama’s capture, the chances of restoring peace and security to Ihiala LGA are now brighter.
