Amid terror alerts, army shares phone numbers for citizens to report security threats

The Nigerian Army has shared phone numbers on special call centres for citizens to report information on security threats.

The Nigerian Army posted the numbers on its social media handles on Friday.

In the past week, there have been heightened concerns following the travel advisories released by some foreign countries on threats of terrorist attacks in parts of the country.

The US and UK had warned of possible terror attacks in Nigeria, especially in the federal capital territory (FCT).

According to the message by the army, citizens can, through the special call centres, report information that will help the army in tackling insecurity.

“Kindly report any information that would aid the Nigerian army in combating insecurity via phone call, SMS, or WhatsApp to the following numbers,” the message reads.

Citizens are urged to dial the short code 193 or call the following emergency lines: 07017222225, 09060005290,08099900131, 08077444303.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians not to panic over the recent security alert issued by the US and UK, adding that security operatives are working to eliminate threats and ensure safety of citizens.
