Anxiety as bandits escalate attacks in Nigeria’s capital

It was reliably gathered that two police officers were allegedly injured during the face off between the bandits and the security agents.

It was learnt that the affected officers have been taken to a nearby hospital, while unidentified number of residents were kidnapped by the blood bandits Zuma community, Bwari Area council.

The Wednesday morning attacks is the fifth in the series since the terrorists struck Garam in Niger State, a boundary community with Bwari, FCT.

The terrorists have so far kidnapped more than fifty five victims, while more than three people have been killed in the process.

The fourth person that died was the wife of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor that was killed in the presence of his family.

She was recovering when the bandits called her line to place ransom on her two kidnapped children who are presently in the bandits’ camp.

It was gathered that the woman who could not bear the grief of the loss of her husband and the agony of her two tender children who are within the age brackets of seven and nine years slummed and entered into a comma. She later gave up on Tuesday.

However, our correspondent gathered that the bandits also entered Garam on Monday Night/Tuesday morning with overwhelming gunfire that sent panic around Garam.

They reportedly abducted three members of one family, unchallenged by any security agents.

The man that most residents described as NEPA staff i.e Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Staff was unlucky as bandits broke into his house, forcefully kidnapped him, his wife and nephew. They escaped with them on motorcycles into the bush.
