Appeal Court Reverses Sack Of Labour Party Rep Member

 

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, on Friday, nullified the ruling of the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, which removed the lawmaker representing Isikwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia State, Rep Amobi Ogah.

The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ogah and re-issue same to Onyejeocha who flew the All Progressives Congress, APC, flag at the election.

But the Appellate court on Friday, said that the appeal of the Labour Party candidate was meritorous and allowed same, thereby setting aside the ruling of the lower court
