BREAKING: We can’t give reasons for total blackout in Imo — EEDC

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has stated that it’s yet to know the reasons for the total blackout in Imo State and some parts of Umuahia in Abia State, since Thursday morning.

In a statement titled Loss of power supply to Imo State and parts of Umuahia by the EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh said the blackout was due to loss of power supply from Alaoji TCN Station.

He noted that as a result of this outage, EEDC’s customers under New Owerri, Owerri Urban, Owerri Rural, Orlu, Mbaise, and parts of Umuahia districts have been without power supply.

Mr Ezeh pointed out that the reason for this development is yet to be made known to EEDC.

EEDC apologized for the inconvenience this situation must have caused its esteemed customers and appealed for their understanding while hoping that the issue would be resolved soon.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State and parts of Umuahia, Abia State, that the blackout being experienced since 7.45am on 14th November 2024, is due to the loss of power supply from Alaoji TCN Station.

As a result of this outage, our customers under New Owerri, Owerri Urban, Owerri Rural, Orlu, Mbaise, and parts of Umuahia districts have been without power supply.

The reason for this development is yet to be made known to EEDC.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation must have caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding while hoping that the issue is resolved soon to enable us to restore supply to our affected customers.
