CAMA 2020: CAC Registration Portal To Be Inaccessible From 28th December, 2020 To 3rd January, 2020 For System Upgrade

*CAC Tells Accredited Customers To Revalidate Accreditation Before 31st March, 2021

The Corporate Affairs Commission has stated that in a bid to commence the implementation of the Companies & Allied Matters Act, 2020, it shall be embarking on a system upgrade and therefore, making its portal inaccessible.

The Commission disclosed this in a public notice which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.

“This is to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that in line with our implementation plan for Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, the Commission has upgraded its registration software to accommodate the changes introduced by the new law on existing entities. The upgrade will also enable all customers to do all post-registration filings electronically.”

Meanwhile, the Commission has disclosed that its registration portal will not be accessible from 28th December, 2020 to 3rd January, 2020 in order “to allow for seamless migration to the new platform “.

However, the Commission has enjoined customers who have pending applications to complete same on or before 27th day of December, 2020 otherwise, “customers should ensure that they print all documents uploaded under their current application as they may be required to present hard copies to the Commission for validation”.

The new software may, depending on the stage of the application allow for continuation of processing of pending applications in certain circumstances based on the new requirements enshrined in the CAMA 2020 and the Companies Regulation 2021”, the notice added.

Meanwhile, the Commission noted that normal services on the platform will be back on 4th day of January, 2021 and that “all existing electronic accounts and log-in access for accredited customers will remain until 31st March, 2020”.

In addition, the Commission has urged its accredited customers to revalidate their accreditation on or before 31st day of March, 2021.

“A multimedia presentation on how to use the new software will be available on our website www.cac.gov.ng from 31st December, 2020”, the statement added.
