Chrisland School supervisor jailed 60 years for defiling 2-year-old child

Adegboyega Adenekan, 47, Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos supervisor has been jailed 60 years for defiling a 2-year-old child.

Justice Sybil Nwaka of an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court handed down the sentence, convicting Adenekan on a count charge of defilement.

She held that evidence before the court showed that the supervisor was guilty as charged.
Adenekan was a supervisor at the Chrisland School, Victoria Garden City, Lagos State.

He pleaded not guilty on arraignment on January 29, 2018.

“This defendant is conscienceless, wicked, an animal, and not fit to walk on the streets.

“I hereby sentence Adegboyega Adenekan to 60 years’ imprisonment. This is the sentence of the court,” the judge held.
Nwaka said that schools should not only be interested in economic gain but the welfare of pupils.

“Schools should not cover up teachers who sexually abuse children.

“Parents should not be carried away by the aesthetics of schools. This case may be the tip of the iceberg as a lot of our children are suffering in silence.

“Parents should be bold enough to confront teachers and school management because a lot of our children are suffering in silence.

“I advise or recommend that the education and social welfare ministry workers should visit schools randomly to give them a check.”

Seven witnesses, including the pupil and her mother, testified for the prosecution, which closed its case on March 14.

Defence called five witnesses.
The offence, according to the prosecution, violated Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, which recommends a life sentence for anyone convicted of defiling a child.

It was a celebrated case during which the toddler testified before the court giving a graphic description of how she was molested by the convict, she said about him: ‘He put his weewee in my wee”.

    1. Indeed, there are Many such imbecile Going about as Men..either in schools, as tenants, nephews, cousins, in-law or even fathers or male siblings..! I Pray G0D Exposes them Always Great judgment. Thank judge, you have demonstrated that you are a caring mother by this judgment. This imbecile should rot in jail and a lesson for those animals like him who may want to toe his inglorious path.

    2. “The little girl said Adenekan covered her mouth when she attempted to shout and that he defiled her twice on the school premises, at his office and at the hallway. I have no doubt in my mind that this defendant, Adenekan, is the same person the victim said put his hand in her private parts and therefore, the defendant is convicted accordingly and sentenced to 60 years’ imprisonment.”
