COVID-19: Funke Akindele arrested, Naira Marley, others wanted for violating restriction order

Movie actress, Funke Akindele Bello has been arrested for flouting social restriction orders of the Lagos state government.

Akindele ran foul of the authorities in Lagos when she defied the threat of the rampaging coronavirus to host a party in her home in Lagos.

A statement by the spokesman of the Lagos state Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the arrest of Akindele.

The Lagos Police Command said its attention was drawn to the ‘recklessness’ by a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly from the entertainment industry  in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband.

The statement  further read:”Police detectives from the State CID Yaba were promptly drafted to the location and Funke Akindele was arrested.

“Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.

“They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted.”
