Cultism: Police arrest IMSU undergraduate with pistol

The police in Imo State have arrested an undergraduate of the Imo State University, Victor Onyeme, 20, for alleged involvement in cultism.
The Mechanical Engineering undergraduate was arrested by personnel of the Shell Camp Division of the command in Owerri.
The police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said a locally-made pistol and two pieces of live ammunition were recovered from the suspect.
Ikeokwu said, “On May 9, while on crime prevention and intensive patrol, operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Shell Camp, Owerri, intercepted one Onyeme Victor, 20, a native of Umuguma, Owerri West LGA.
“He is studying Mechanical Engineering at the Imo State University. Upon a physical search on him, a locally-made pistol and two pieces of live ammunition were recovered from him.
“He confessed to being the owner and stated that he uses the gun for his personal protection. Investigation is ongoing.”
