…..Says 2 civilian died, one soldier injured
A military source in Adamawa state said the soldiers engaged Bokoharam insurgents in an open gun battle for 2 hours before the terrorists overpowered them.
Crimefacts.News had reported how Bokoharam insurgents attacked Garikida, a village situated in Gombe out sketch that has close border with Borno state on Thursday evening.
Speaking to Crimefacts.News on condition of anonymity, the military source said the attack started about 4 – 6 pm in the evening on Thursday.
According to the source, “We engaged them (Bokoharam) in a gun battle for 2 hours but they were too offensive and overran us. So we have to withdraw immediately.
” They went into the village(Garikida) and burn many things. Even some the equipments of the road construction company, trailers were also raised by the insurgents.
Speaking further, the military source said 2 civilian died from the attack while a soldier sustained gunshot wounds and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
