‘Explosion’ kills civilian JTF leader in Borno

Abba Godori, the vice-chairman of the civilian Joint Taskforce (JTF) in Kawuri, a town in Konduga LGA of Borno state, has died in a bomb explosion.

Punch reports that the explosion that occurred on Tuesday is believed to have been caused by a bomb planted by terrorists.

A witness quoted in the report said Godori stepped on the explosive while on patrol in the area.

“Mr. Godori was on patrol when he stepped on the bomb. He was following the terrorists’ trail until he stepped on the bomb,” the witness said.

Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the Borno police command, told TheCable he had not yet received the full report on the incident.

“I am yet to get the full report from the DPO. I will have it within the night,” he said.
