Verification

First no credible news organization in Nigeria reported that a protest took place recently in Ibadan, Oyo State.

When FACTWATCH contacted a resident in Ibadan, Femi Damilola told this Fact Checker that apart from the August protest, no other protest has taken place in the State recently.

When this Fact Checker traced the video using the TikTok username on it, it was discovered that @mikkyforlie0 posted this video first on 2nd August during the #EndBadGovernance protest in Edo State.

In the TikTok video @mikkyforlie0 shared, this Fact Checker saw a billboard of the Edo PDP’s governorship, Asue Ighodalo. This confirmed that the protest took place in Edo before the gubernatorial election in the State.
