Five Killed In Fresh Attack in Kwara

Five people have been killed by suspected terrorists within the last 24 hours in the Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.

A resident of the Karonzi community, who spoke with Channels Television via telephone, confirmed that two Fulani individuals were slaughtered on Wednesday evening around 8 pm in a hamlet near the village.

He added that the incident forced other residents in the area to flee to nearby communities for safety.

In a separate attack on Thursday at about 4 pm, a group of twelve armed men reportedly emerged from the bush and ambushed a motorcycle carrying three passengers in another village within the same local government.

All three individuals were killed on the spot.

According to the source, fear has now gripped the entire area, with residents afraid to step out of their homes due to the rising threat of killings and abductions.

Efforts to obtain a response from the police were unsuccessful, as calls to the Public Relations Officer of the Kwara Police Command were not answered at the time of filing this report.
