Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday said state governors were worried over the Saturday attack on the convoy of their Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom.
He said if a governor who had security details with him could witness such attack, the fate of Nigerians without security could only be imagined.
Ganduje spoke in an interview with State House correspondents after a meeting he had with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He however expressed the conviction that the recent appointment of new service chiefs would go a long way in addressing the nation’s security challenges.
The governor said, “I think it (attack on Ortom) was unfortunate, but I believe with the appointment of new service chiefs, new strategy will be developed and I think Mr President has always been serious on this issue, but it’s rather unfortunate.
“Not only governors that are being attacked, anybody who is attacked in Nigeria, one should be worried because life is life.
“Certainly, we are worried because a governor is supposed to have some security with him, let alone of an ordinary man who has no security.
