A few days after the crisis resolution in Rivers State, a similar scenario is playing out in Benue State as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly caucus accused Governor Hyacinth Alia of displaying dictatorial tendencies and poor leadership.
Senator Titus Zam, the caucus chairman, addressed a news conference on Thursday, December 21, stating that Governor Alia had joined forces with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to destroy the APC in Benue State.
The caucus accused the governor of ignoring the party’s preferences in all his decisions, appointing his preferred candidates instead, and disregarding the National Assembly members from the state.
They accused him of running a one-man show as governor of the state and lacking a blueprint for the development of the state.
They listed several alleged infractions by the governor while appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call the governor to order and intervene in the events in Benue state before the governor destroys the party in the state.
