Gunmen Abduct Pregnant Woman In Ondo

 

Suspected kidnappers have abducted a middle-aged woman at Ayede community near Alagbaka GRA extension of Akure, Ondo state capital.

The victim named Mary Jesulayomi, said to be pregnant, was abducted on Tuesday when the hoodlums stormed the community and started shooting sporadically before whisking her away.

An aged woman, Madam Ogunleye, who was also kidnapped was later released. Her husband, said to be about 90 years old, was injured in the course of attempting to abduct him too.

The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the abduction of Jesulayomi to journalists on Wednesday.

Jimoh said the Command has deployed a tactical team to the scene, adding that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim and apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
