Imo Govt reacts to CrimeFacts Investigation

The Imo state government through the Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), has reacted to an *investigative report on dilapidated schools* in Imo State by CrimeFacts on Monday.

In a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of IMSUBEB, Chief Chidiebere Egboh, the Board described the report as false and an ‘insult to the truth’.

Egboh claimed that under the transformational leadership of Senator Hope Uzodimma, Imo State has witnessed an unprecedented revolution in basic education, impacting school infrastructure in the 27 council areas of the state.

In line with standard journalism practice, CrimeFacts on Tuesday published the refutal from IMSUBEB verbatim, as “Right Of Reply”. Read here.

And following the publication of the refutal, CrimeFacts has received substantial feedback from many communities across the state on the deplorable condition of schools in their area.

These feedbacks will deepen the conversation as the public interrogates school infrastructure across the state.

To this end, Crimefacts will proceed with follow-up stories to shed more light on all perspectives in this subject matter
