The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, yesterday lamented the growing insecurity in the country, blaming the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government for ‘turning Nigeria into a killing field.’ Ayu spoke during the defection of a serving House of Assembly member, Baba Odeh and Alex Enokela and their supporters from the APC into the PDP. He bemoaned the poor state the country has found itself in, saying there is “presently a wrong leadership in the country under the APC, stressing also that the country must be rescued and rebuilt.
Ayu said: “Today, Nigeria has become a killing field, our mothers, our brothers; our sisters are being murdered in every corner of Nigeria. You are not able to sleep, you cannot go to your farms, and you can’t do anything because a wrong government is in place. “Do not worry, do not say it is only Fulani people killing you, it is a wrong group of Fulani people. When Alhaji Shehu Shagari was in power, did Fulani come to kill you? They did not. “We have a wrong leadership in this country; we are going to replace this leadership with a competent leadership that will bring about development in Nigeria. We are going to rebuild this country; that is why the slogan of the PDP is rescue and rebuild.”
