No monarch in Imo is involved in kidnapping, armed robbery -Eze Okeke

By Ibe Paschal Arogorn

The factional Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze E . C. Okeke, has dismissed claims by the Imo State Police command that it arrested a traditional ruler involved in kidnapping, describing the assertion as untrue.

He denied any involvement of any traditional ruler in kidnapping or armed robbery activities in the state.
The monarch insisted that the suspect was not a monarch in the state.

The statement read ,“ The attention of the Imo State Traditional Institution and Community Policing has been drawn to the news making the round that a traditional ruler in the state is involved in a kidnapping case, our investigation shows that the said person is not a recognised traditional ruler in Imo State. The traditional ruler of Awara is Eze A. N . Ezenwoke, who is the Chairman of the Ohaji/ Egbema LGA Traditional Institution and Community Policing.

“I make bold to state that traditional rulers ( Ezes )
are people of proven integrity in Imo state.
“This information and asserting should be disregarded at once, as the information was unverified and does not sit well with the royal fathers in Imo state.
“This is also not meant to say that the said
person did or did not get involved in the
said crime, what we are saying is that he is not a monarch by any standard. The public should be guided.”
