Mr Usman Momoh, who was accused by his daughter , Fatima, of sexual abuse has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command.
Fatima, in a viral video , said her father had been sleeping with her for a very long time and whenever she refused to have sex with him , he would send her out of the house in the midnight .
Momoh, a staff of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo , Ondo State , was paraded at the state headquarters of the police in Akure , the state capital, on Friday. He confessed to committing the crime but said he had sex with his daughter once .
He asked the society to forgive him as he has realised his mistake. Momoh also stated that he did not know what came over him when he committed the incestuous act.
Speaking on the matter , Chairperson of the Ondo State chapter of International Federation of Women Lawyers , Barr. Bola Ogundadegbe, said the prosecution of Momoh rested with the police after investigation. She said the victim would be counselled psychologically to enable her to come out of her current state of depression .
“ We are going to give her psychological support. She needs our support morally because she is not stable, ” the FIDA chairperson stated .
