Owerri Archdiocese Debunks Killing Of Kidnapped Bishop Moses

The Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri has disclaimed the news making the rounds on the purported killing of the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese, Most Rev. Moses Chikwe

This is contained in a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer signed by Assistant Secretary-General of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Nnaemeka Njezi dated December 29, 2020

“His Grace, Most Rev Anthony J.V. Obinna of Owerri, hereby requests all Christ’s faithful and people of goodwill at large to disregard the purported news feed by one Useni Yusuf at AJ Press on the killing of the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, Most Rev. Moses Chikwe.” the disclaimer reads

According to him, the “information is unconfirmed, misleading and does not come from the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri”

The Archdiocese therefore appeal to all to “join the Archbishop in prayers for the release of Bishop Chikwe and Mr. Ndubuisi Robert, his driver.”

Recall that Bishop Moses Chikwe was reportedly kidnapped in the night of Sunday 27 December 2020 along with his driver

His head was allegedly found in a village road side at Nkpor. Blood littered all over lies his head chopped off from his body and smugged with the offering wine.

The bishop’s car and official regalia were also later found near the Assumpta Cathedral in Owerri.
