Policemen who extorted N3m from man in Bayelsa have been identified — Official

ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson in Nigeria said that the policemen who extorted over N3m from Liberty Isaac in Bayelsa have been identified.

Last week, a Ghana based Nigerian, Liberty Kelechi Isaac, has urged the inspector General of Police to fish out some policemen who extorted N3m from him on a gunpoint on Monday.

Isaac who said that he was in the country to attend a friend’s Traditional marriage ceremony in Bayelsa state, disclosed that the policemen forced him to unlock his phone and on seeing a N10m Bank alert they started beating him and threatened to kill him if he failed to transfer N6m to them.

Reacting on this via his X handle, Muyiwa noted that the matter has been taken up by the FHQ and the CP Bayelsa, CP Francis Idu.

“The men have been identified. We will continue to act on it tomorrow Monday(today) for further investigation.

This act is unacceptable and condemned. I personally engaged the cp, and we are on it. Justice will be served. Thanks, “he said.
